Yes, it's happening again!  In 2018 Unusual Attitudes and NGPA teamed up for what we believe was a first-ever LA Pride Parade contingent made up of pilots and other aviation enthusiasts!  After all, there have long been groups of LGBTQ+ doctors and lawyers and teachers and softball players and outdoor groups, etc.in the parade, so why not an LGBTQ+ pilot/aviation group?

We got the two groups together and had a grand ol' time marching in the parade and being greeted by so many in the crowd who were happy to see and learn of us.

After a 2-year absence, LA Pride is back!  This year it's a slightly delayed 50th Anniversary event (thanks a LOT, COVID), and will take place in its original home in Hollywood.  We submitted an application to participate to LA Pride, and it was just accepted!!  We are going to be a part of it!

Here's what was submitted to LA Pride in our application to be in this year's parade:

"NGPA and UA members will carry both organizations' banners as we march together showing the unity and pride of professional and recreational aviation. Great strides have been made in making aviation more inclusive, welcoming, and safe for aviation professionals regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. We love aviation and love that we no longer have to hide ourselves within the aviation community. The advocacy work of NGPA has played a key role in that happening in professional settings. UA has played a key role in providing a safe social space for Southern California aviators, both professional and recreational."
